We cannot...

Postby Mustang98 » Mon Nov 13, 2006 3:38 pm

...get our doors blown off and fall apart the last two games of the season. This team has to find a killer instinct these last two games and finish strong.

If we lose one or both of the remaining games, how are our coaches supposed to go into the living room of recruits and tell them we are TRULY turning it around at the Hilltop? I know we are light years from the winless 2003 season, but in order to persuade talented 18 year old football players to choose SMU we have to finish strong. I don't think 6-6 is a compelling reason to come to SMU. A record of 7-5 shows everyone you are going places and that a few talented recruits could take us from 7-5 to 9-3, 10-2, 11-1, etc.

if we drop the last two games will Orsini allow this coaching staff to go into a recruit's home? For that matter does anybody have any idea what the measure of success Orsini is going to hold the football program to?

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

I would imagine if Bennett doesn't get this team to a bowl game, Orsini shows Bennett the door

I hope Orsini isn't Copeland :!:

BACK TO BACK FIVE WIN (oops i had my caps on) seasons is the best
record by ONE coaching staff since the DP :!:

I don't want to blow all this up, and go 0 - 12 in 08 :!: Coaching staff
shake ups tend to do that.

See Rossley, and Cavin. No Cavin's winning 6-5 season was supposed
to be Rossley's big breakout 8-3 Bowl year :!: We went down hill after
that.

Coaching shakeups don't lead to winless seasons. Show me causation.

If we have only five wins including the two wins against lesser competition, the coaches won't be in anyone's living room on behalf of SMU.

Didn't say that.

Leadership changes tend to cause massive staff changes (players) AKA
blowing up the situation.

GOOD, and GREAT Players don't like the new coach, or become fed up
with the situation. That leads to sub par seasons, and 0 - 12.

See Ramon Flannigan vs. Cavin & Associates.
