At least someone is giving our defense some respect.
Quarterback Paul Smith has been impressed with SMU's defense on film. "They do have some standout players, but they play well as a team," Smith said. "They are very assignment-sound. There have been some teams that we've played that aren't nearly as assignment-sound as SMU is going to be."
This is the fourth time that Smith, a redshirt junior, has been on TU's sidelines for a game against SMU. "They're not only good players, but they're good guys," Smith said. "They have a lot of class. (Last year) it was a tough game and it's always a tough game with them."
Smith's 66-yard TD pass to Garrett Mills provided the winning margin in a 20-13 victory against the visiting Mustangs in 2005.

It's going to be harder to wish evil on the guy after he says classy things like that.
Screw it: Thanks for the nice words, Smith, but here's hoping Justin Rogers and Cory Muse scramble your brain a few times. Classy guys that they are, I'm sure they'll help you up afterward, but how about tossing a few picks to fellow Oklahoman Bryan McCann?
After losing to SMU Saturday, I hope you regain your senses and enjoy the rest of your season. Thank you. Have a nice day.
"What kind of weirdo school are they running over there in Fort Worth?"

There was no qb controvesy! We all new Paul Smith would start. Yes TU does have a good backup qb. But it was always known that smith was the starter. He took TU to the liberty bowl last year. they won cusa

That was actually last year that they had the qb controversy. Smith has been the starter from day 1 this year. This is the guy who was the preseason CUSA player of the year as well as the Liberty Bowl MVP from last year. He is a very crafty QB.

I'm still waiting for Salma Hayek to call, but apparently she doesn't think I'm worth the time and effort, either.
Either that, or she knows my wife will clean her clock.

Wow. Okay. Whatever. But Tulsa probably could stand to use a good quarterback controversy just to wake up the town.

I like Tulsa the way it is -- boring and they keep to themselves.
