Nice article about Justin and the progress our program is making. Only one issue that I have with Mr. Taylor, the author of this article. He referred to NCAA sanctions of 20 years ago twice in the article. We need to do all we can to make sure that continued references to that hideous event are stopped. That is not the defining event of our university. There are no players, staff, coaches or administrators who were there 20 years ago that are there today. I sent a response to Mr. Taylor this morning praising the article, but requested that references to the events of the mid 80's be eliminated from otherwies well written articles. Again, I appreciated the article with that one exception.

Except that the whole point of the friggin article is that Willis finally has SMU on the cusp of being back from something. THE SOMETHING IS THE DEATH PENALTY.

Until we go to bowl games and win championship-the DP is in fact the defining moment in modern SMU Football History. Just a fact-nothing will change that except bowls and championships.

BTW now that SMU is "front page center" in the DMN Sports Section I expect a full house in Ford on Saturday-right?

I have often said the day you know SMU is back is when articles are written that do not allude at the beginning to......"the only team to have suffered the death penaly".

According to McClown that is exactly what you should expect. And a class full of blue-chip recruits to boot.

The problem is we spent money on Ford and now on a new BB training facility and that is going to keep them from coming, both fans and recruits.
