Mini Mustangs Last Week -Thanks to Everyone

Sorry I haven't had a chance to write an appropriate thank you to everyone that made my Mini Mustangs trip to the Houston game one that they will not soon forget. I have been in Portugal for a few days and have been without Ponyfans.

I would like to thank Mark Rydel for sending me $100 to pay for the kids tickets. This got the ball rolling and the Blog got Brad Sutton and Courtney Ferguson to provide everyone in the party group tickets. I thought we were going to get a group rate but when I got to Will Call everything was free. We were stunned by the generosity of SMU. I then took the $100 that Mark Rydel sent me to buy the boys SMU Footballs and T-Shirts. I have received so many thank yous from the parents telling me what a great time they had and one of the boys keeps having his mom wash his t-shirt every day so he can wear it to school. This truly proves the greatness of Ponyfans.

Once again I would like to thank everyone for their generosity but I would like to single out the generosity of mrydel who spent his own money to make so many new Mustang fans.

Sutton and Ferguson sound like they really know how to do the right thing, even if it costs the school a few bucks -- an investment that will be returned in infinite payback if those kids grow up as PonyFans. Way to go, BrianTinBigD, bringing the whole team!

Those kids probably ate two grand worth of candy and popcorn. I think SMU made out OK.

Let's wait for the check to clear to give out the accolades. Thanks though. Brian and I had communicated the importance and the impression that can be made on a young kid attending a big time college game. It may seem trivial to us seeing an empty stadium on Saturday especially compared to UT or Ohio State, etc. but to these kids this is big time and I can assure you they will remember last weekend the rest of their lives and tell their kids and so forth, just as I am glad to help because of similar things that happened to me when I was young.

:D :D :D . Posted some of my childhood newspapter clippings on here
on the A Face From The Past topic. Going to SMU games as a kid
will get you addicted.

Hope a kid or 2 will still do the paper clipping thing, and become a
PONYFAN :!:

Hope to see some clippings in 15 years on A Face From The Past
about how we beat Tulsa, and Rice to make it to a bowl game :!:

That's why they have a 20 foot bronze statue of Mrydel entering the beautiful town of Sherwood.
