Come to the BUS STOP.

No I do not know where it will be but there are BIG parking lost by the stadium. I will get there 2 to 3 hours early. I drive a BLue Dodge Ram 1500.

I doubt I can feed everyone but will bring chairs, tables, coolers and some food.

Look for the Red Flag with BUS STOP on top.

Special Delivery will be there. The Bonds Family will be there.

YOU BE THERE.

PM me and lets talk.

MAN THIS IS FUN.

Been a long time.
LOVE IT.

Time for another drink.

Count me in.

And for a little motivation, remember in 1916 Rice beat us 146-3. Time for revenge!!

Bus, I was glad to meet you and your tailgate was very accomodating even to an @ss like me. Unfortunately, I have to be in San Antonio with my wife and 6 year old for the river lighting ceremony, which has become a tradition, so I will not make it to the Rice game. Please send jtstang's regards to all in attendance.

My whole family (7 of us, I believe) will be there. And we're bringing friends. My parents usually sit with the Pellerins as well, so we'll try and get them to tailgate...

I will be there BUS. Look forward to seeing you guys and a Mustang victory. Has anyone driven 45 to Houston from Dallas recently? I wonder how much time it will take. About 240 miles I believe.

I drove it two weeks ago. Construction is still ongoing from the town of Rice  southbound and northbound all the way to Corsicana. Construction on I-45 south of Corsicana has been completed (finally!). Smooth sailing on I-45 until you get to Conroe. MAJOR CONSTRUCTION is underway after you pass Hwy. 105 in Conroe. New lanes and bridge being built over the San Jacinto River. Expect MAJOR delays coming and going. No other construction on I-45 on into Houston.

Just remember to watch for law enforcement officials in all of the regular spots on Interstate 45 between Dallas and Houston.

Some fun trivia for your road trip: you will pass through the town of Rice on Interstate 45 (south of Ennis) but you will also travel through the town of Mustang (south of Corsicana) and you will cross Mustang Creek (south of Centerville and prior to Normangee).

Pretty amazing recap MM65 but in that long response you didn't even answer the man's question :D . It will take you from 3.5 to 4 hours dependingon how fast you drive assuming you are coming Saturday morning.

My apologies, Icon & Bill. From Dallas to Huntsville is 2 hours and 45 minutes at 75 mph. From Huntsville to Houston traffic begins building up and it can be anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours from there depending on construction along I-45 at the San Jacinto River.

Everyone drive safely. Let's get all of our ponyfans back home!

Usually it's a 3.5 hour drive. However, being Thanksgiving weekend I would suggest you give yourself ample time as in the next few days it will probably be at least a 4 hour drive if not longer. A few years back it took 6 hours because traffic was backed up around Centerville.

I used to be on the leadership team for the Houston Chapter. Back in 2002, we organized a bar-b-que under a tent with all you can drink. It took us months to bid everything out and get the costs down to $15 a head. We did and it was a huge success.

The Alumni office didn't have the financial backing to help us, so we kind of did it without SMU's promotion strength We self promoted the event. When the alumni office and President Turner came down they were all smiles and surprised at the same time.

They contacted me Friday about what we did in 2002 and I gave them all the information (vendors, suppliers, etc.). Luckily I kept my notes. Now that the media is all over the story of SMU possibly going to a bowl game, they are going to do something big. SMU doesn't want to do something half way with outsiders looking at our team and fans more closely. They emailed me a rough draft of the electronic invitation, so I will send it along as soon as they send me the final copy.
