Once again, SMU controls it's destiny

Postby Charleston Pony » Sun Nov 19, 2006 9:35 am

I thought we had blown it after Houston, but now appears if SMU beats Rice we will qualify for one of CUSA's bowl bids...most likely for either Ft Worth or New Orleans.

Looks like TCU may end up in Ft Worth...especially if they lose to either Colorado St or Air Force. I still say that would be the best match-up SMU could hope for

BEAT RICE

just watching Rice scores the past month, it looks like its going to be very difficult. but like Willis said in the paper yesterday, you didnt think it would be easy did you? fate will require smu to exorcise plenty of demons on the way to a bowl game. can we stop the option?

Rice doesn't run the option anymore. They've grown up to big boy offenses. They actually have the personnel to teach and to do the plays. The game against Rice is going to be a great one.

Expect the spread option to be a big player. Also, the 8 yard out pattern is always a big player against our D.
