Mapps at QB???

Postby drs1310 » Sun Nov 19, 2006 12:38 pm

This was the first time we have seen this play all year and i would like to see it a couple more times!(Maybe in a bowl game?) But seriously Mapps at qb and wills at wr that formation could give def. fits cause Mapps can run and believe it or not can throw pretty damn good! Quick dish out to willis then down field to sanders!! Touchdown!!

I liked that look too, and it would have gottem more than 5 yds if the dumb officials hadn't started delaying the game for some reason when we came up to the line. Tulsa had time to adjust before we snapped the ball.

We know Mapps has talent. He just needs to get on the field more regardless where.

Of course I'm not suggesting he play QB but I agree that an occational play like that could be special.

Of course, it would be better if Willis didn't just stand around like he did on the play. I prefer to play 11 on 11 and on 10 on 11.

Given his background as a high school QB, I've always wanted to see Mapps throw a halfback option pass, too.

So they worked him in like Arkansas did with McFadden the other week? Thats good thinking by the SMU coaches, because if he can throw too, the defense is going to have fits!
