Halftime Speech!

Postby tmustangp » Sun Nov 19, 2006 3:14 pm

if there are any players who read this.. I read that Bonds gave a stirring speech.. I myself figured that Bennett threatened to cut every player if they played the 2nd half the way they played the first (joking obviously) but apparently there wasn't any yelling and screaming..

If it is something that could be shared I know that everyone is wondering what happened at halftime to make the guys play so well in the second half.. If someone can share bond's speech? please do?

The way I it was relayed to me, there were two main points:

1. SMU only had 17 (or so) plays in the first half, and there's no reason to worry, because our offense will move the ball and score.

2. We (seniors maybe?) have come too far to screw it up now. Refuse to lose, never give up, keep fighting, show your pride -- that kind of thing.

Unwittingly, Tulsa, by taking 9 minutes off the clock on their first possession, took away valuable opportunities to score in the first half...
