Michigan had their shot at the national championship this weekend, they don't deserve another one!

As close as that game was, it seems fair to me. Re-match!

so if michigan beats them, and they both only have 1 loss, and its to each other, you would give the national championship to michigan. hmmmm interesting theory

i think if usc beats notre dame, they will jump michigan by strength of schedule... and you have to remember 2/3 of the vote doesnt come from the computer

I agree 100%--Florida deserves a shot. USC is overrated, though (again).

AS POSTED ON KILLER FROGS:
The BCS is officially released this week, but do not be deceived. It may look like Michigan is 2nd, USC 3rd and Florida 4th, but really USC is 2nd. If these poll margins hold up (and that isn't a given), USC will play for the title if it wins out.

USC currently leads Michigan by 21 points in the Harris poll and 16 points in the coaches' poll. That margin is such that if you flipped Michigan and USC in two of the computers in which the Wolverines are 2nd, then USC leads. However, there is no doubt that USC will be the top-rated one-loss team in the computers if it wins out, and may be the #1 team period in some of the computers. So, if voters really want to see a rematch, they will have to come out much stronger for Michigan or hope USC loses.

Of course, even that may not be enough. There is a good chance that Florida will pass Michigan in the computers also. Michigan leads Florida by 69 points in the Harris poll and 21 in the coaches' poll. With that poll margin, the Gators would have to be one point ahead of Michigan in the computer average (for example, 2.00 to 3.00) to move past the Wolverines in the BCS.

What would really make things interesting is if Notre Dame beats USC. The Irish would probably siphon some of the votes away from Florida, but it's hard to imagine too many voters moving them up past Michigan. That could work to the Wolverine's advantage.

You heard it hear first. USC is not beating the Irish...then again I'm an ND fan so I may be biased. If I'm right does ND then get in to play for the title? Or is it going to be Florida or Michigan?

If Arkansas beats Florida, it will be hard to deny USC provided that USC wins out given the fact that USC has already beaten the piglets. It will also be hard to say that USC is overrated with wins over Arkansas, Nebraska, and California to name just a few of their victories and also given their record over the last 5 years.

USC will lose to Notre Dame. The Trojans have been living on the edge too much.

Florida will lose to Arkansas. Their offense is very ordinary.

Michigan will gets its re-match. However, just keep the Razorbacks in the back of your mind should they take care of LSU on Friday in Little Rock.

see my posts after that one... i dont think it will matter by the end of the season, it will either be:
a. USC
b. Florida (i hope not)
c. ND
d. Arknsas
e. SMU or Michigan (this ofcourse depends on how we play at rice)

that being said if there was a playoff system, it would screw Ohio State... they deserve to be in the national championship, they shouldnt have to play another 4 games to prove it. If Florida beats arkansas in the usual SEC fashion of a 14-12 game, and Notre Dame whoops USC (doubtful, but possible), I can see Notre Dame jumping to number 2 (who i thought would be there at the start of the season)... and to say USC is overrated is just idiotic... they killed arkansas at arkansas... they beat ND then they have beat 4 top 25 teams and should be in the title against OSU... which I think will happen

I think the USC slaughter of Arkansas to start the season was a fluke. I would bet if they played that game again, it would be much closer and I think maybe even an Arkansas win. (I feel the same way about SMU/NTSU). I also don't put too much stock in the Pac-10. USC lost to Oregon St. They beat Cal, but Cal lost to Tennessee. I honestly hope Florida gets its shot against OSU, but I suppose I would take ND in the title game. Arkansas doesn't get there because they will lose to LSU  .

You know what's really ridiculous for me is that I'm talking trash on behalf of Arkansas!! I never thought I would ever see myself doing that.

Arkansas Razorbacks to the finish....

We're going to expose JaMarcus Russell for the fraud that he really is!

thats why they have the computers analyze all the numbers... And not to mention every poll has USC ranked higher then Arkansas, so I guess the coulda/woulds/shoulda argument for Arkansas doesnt matter
