Fans will be at Houston Saturday? I know between the band/alumni band/cheerleaders/pom squad we have 70 or 80 "built-in" fans. Someone said yesterday that 200 or so tickets had been sold at Ford. Will we bring 500 to Rice?

I'll be there in spirit. And by spirit I mean not at all.

I really hope you guys can bring more than 1,000-1,500 to support the players. This is a huge game for SMU's program and it's only a 3.5 hr drive. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but there is no way I'd miss this game if I were an SMU fan.

I will go out on a limb and say that 500 is a sure thing and I am thinking closer to 1,000.

There were over 260 RSVP'd for the Houston Alumni brunch as of Friday. SMU in fact had to change the venue from the original location to the Omni Hotel because of the great response. I would think that means we can expect at least 300 SMU alumni in Houston to attend the game, which does not include any students and alumni from the Dallas area. I think we have over 1,000 SMU fans at the game.

While I do not wish to emulate Cougar High, I will say that I would hope we get get some facsimile of their showing at Ford when we go to Rice. Their crowd was sitting toghether in a block, they were loud, and they were a sea of red! I don't expect 3-4K in Houston, but we can learn a thing from our red foes down south.

Why doesn't everyone where red this weekend since Rice is blue and gray?

260!? That's pathetic, in all honesty.

I think 260 RSVP's over a week in advance for Thanksgiving weekend is pretty good. Remember the brunch starts at 10am and is not at the site of the game, which begins at 2pm. Considering our general lack of fan support, getting over 300 (when the final count is tallied) of Houston SMU alums to attend a brunch is not bad. Just to put into perspective, I was at the signing day happy hour last season, in Dallas at the Radisson right by SMU, on a non holiday, and there were less than 300 there.

I could care less for comparisons. This is now, this is the game that determines if we go to the bowl game.. its on a SATURDAY, in the same frickin state.

Pathetic.

I dont see how you can accurately gauge the attendance at the game by the numbers at a 10:00am brunch.

Don't say pathetic until the crowd is seen and counted. I think we are all going to be pleasantly suprised and will run outta hot dogs early!

I will have my brother-in-law, my nephew, my son, and myself and we will be yelling loudly for the Mustangs. We might even be able to drag in a few other people.

My brother-in-law went to high school with Ken Hatfield - now that Kenny is gone - I'm sure he will be cheering for SMU plus his daughter was a diver on the Mustang Diving Team a few years ago.

Everyone remember to bring something to sit on, I remember last time down there all the wood on the seats was rotting, some broken.
