Phil Bennett is a nice guy?! and other rants by SMU96

Postby BrianTinBigD » Sat Nov 25, 2006 7:24 pm

Having to post this as my brother is driving down the road and throwing out all sorts of Hot Sports Opinions. These are not the opinions of me but SMU96 who is having his post SMU loss tirade and I am letting him drive for some reason Here are the current ones:
  • Screw the fact that PB is a nice guy. Wins and Losses are what matters.
  • Clock management is horrible.
  • The offensive coordinator should be fired but maybe we keep Phil. Oh wait, Phil hired him so fire them both.
  • "If anyone mentions Charlie Waters I am gonna vomit. He can't even talk about football on the radio."
  • Just bring in Coker. At least he can coach.
  • Bennet just does not know how to win.
  • Why didn't we double team 81 all day long?

Here are some more HSO's

*-Why didn't we throw to our tight ends?
*-Please tell me that nobody mentioned Charlie Waters. I am hungry and would like to eat.
*-Has anyone mentioned Todd Dodge?

Of course. There are some who seem to confuse Todd Dodge with Pete Carroll and Bob Stoops.

Everyone has mentioned Todd Dodge. PhirePhil is pushing C Waters also. Rice's scheme bottled up Willis better than anyone has this year.

Todd Dodge? Why not Todd Graham? He interviewed very well today with Steve Orsini present.

Next thought -
"Should we accept a bowl bid?"
"Do we accept or turn it down?"
"It's basketball season, right?"
"Someone owes me 3 and a half hours"
"If we would have won, somebody else would have been driving and I would be drinking."

I said in another post that if we can get a bid we should take it for the sake of the seniors who have suffered through 0-12 and fought so hard. SMU has been overlooked for bowls before and I would not feel bad at all being selected ahead of others. The only ones that will remember that others were overlooked will be those overlooked.

This has been a fun ride so far and we aren't even to Huntsville. We have gone from despair to bargaining to anger to despair to acceptance in record time. I mean we have barely gone an hour and a half and it looks like acceptance has sunk in. I am hoping that he doesn't drive by another restaurant because I am getting hungry. :D

He is still claiming that he keeps throwing up just a little bit in his mouth about every 10 minutes or so.

I can answer all these for you!!
1. Wins and losses are what matters. We have possibly 3 players on each side of the ball J-Will, Emmanuel Sanders, DMart, Joe Studivant, Bonds and Rodgers. J-Will is to small to play anywhere else??
2. I do not understand the clock management thing, when the games today last at least one hour longer than years before due to all the passing?
3. Offensive coordinators all over the nation using these charts instead of good common sense. It is not rocket science. Line up and whip [deleted] on the two yard line, but we cannot, because we cannot block!!
4. Charlie Waters is a bumbling idiot!!
5. You can coach at the U? Look what Coker had to work with? We need someone who will kick some [deleted]?? The team is to laid back. J-Will taking his helmet off evertime something does not go right. Whip his [deleted]. Finger pointing on the field when someone on defense makes a mistake (Wilton), whip his [deleted]. We need someone that will light a fire, but we will never have that due to the 22 years of institutional control and now Orsini. this program may be done for 22 more years if PB is gone. Might as cancel the damn thing and play intramurals. We might can win at that.
6. PB will never win consistently with the talent level we have. We have only three state of Texas top players J-Will, DMart and the big tightend from Beeville, who has to play tackle because our tackles can't.
7. the only weapon they had and we spent a week not preparing to stop him, like they did J-Will. How fu*king stupid? Burns and Gush need to go!! This is unacceptable and not that complicated.
