Offensive Play Calling

I have not commented on this board about this and I don't believe I have ever started a critical thread on a message board before...
I think these players have had to repeatedly OVERCOME some pretty pathetic offensive play calling this entire season. Despite this, we were on the verge of our first bowl game in a couple of decades.
I think Gerry Fraley said it best after our loss to UNT: "Rusty Burns runs an offense with a mish-mash of slow developing, high risk, low reward plays."
I applaud the efforts of our players, as always. If this coaching staff returns next season, I will support it as always. But I think we need a serious review of how we run this offense. You can only "off" so many coordinators (Edmonson) before we start asking difficult questions about the man in charge of the team.
Please forgive my rant...

DEAD ON about Rusty Burns' offense. Concur with your last statement as well.. and PB is no Bobby Bowden either.

Bobby's son is available since he just got canned as offensive coordinator of FSU. Of course, he was canned because his offense wasn't getting it done either, but he may be a better recruiter than what we have now.

I can hear it now. We only need to recruit within a 300 mile radius of Tallahasee.

We left 8 points on the one-yard line! We didn't deserve to win today. And who made the decision not to double Dillard??? Wasn't it pretty obvious after he scored TWICE that he deserved a little extra attention??? We were outcoached in every facet of the game. Our D kept us in it longer than we should have been. Defensive genius, my [deleted]. Phil lost this game, along with our offensive line.

He made 2 catches that I though were impossible. He is a good player.

The Rice announcer said "he may be 5' 11" but he plays 11' 5" ". Sure seemed that way.

PB is a horrible game manager. He and that pathetic excuse for an offensive coordinator need to go. 1st and goal twice and they can't get it done. Here's a novel idea - take the ball from under center and hand off to the rb's that seemed to be getting it done. Maybe throw in a QB sneak or draw. Wow. It's not freaking rocket science. As previously said, those kids shouldn't have had to put up with that ALL SEASON. Thanks for blowing a bowl guys. Good job. Happy job hunting.

Damn right, but putting you true FR in single coverage time after time v. Dillard is borderline insane.

Rice is not better, they just have the playmaker in Dillard, while Rice plays teams like us too stupid to figure out how to shut him down.
As for the play call, get rid of the O-Coordinator. I like the spread offense, especially in a school like this, but for the Love of God, get a FB.

BTW I'm pretty sure it was Lindley not McCann who got beat on the last TD. Anybody have a confirmation. I thought I saw Lindley on him, on other occassions too.

It was Lindley. Looked like he had pretty good position on him, kid just made a great catch on a ball that was right to him.

All of his catches were spectacular, but when you throw double coverage on him it will at the very least make those catches a lot harder. And if he's doubled when he scores, it makes me feel like we actually have a coach who game plans.

Once again, I only post when I read bull [deleted]!! Rice was rushing 3 and we were blocking with 5 and could not get the job done!! We need players. I tell you like this call whatever play you want, if your 11 can whip my 11 [deleted], guess who will win. Rice kicked our PLAYERS [deleted] the second half. The only thind Burns could have done is played himself? Some of you need to stop posting on this site with the crap you are posting.
