Still visiting this sad little board [NOT a slight to PF.com] a full day after another disgraceful season comes to an end with nothing to show for it, yet again, as if someone's going to come on here and tell us that yesterday really never happened.
We lost. We lost. Can you believe it? Another year down the drain. I'm still disgusted. Somehow, I was unable to buy into the jt philosophy yesterday, and look where it got me. Another foul mood and ruined weekend. Ugghh!!!!
I can't even bear to think about another season under Phil Bennett, especially with the loss of all those seniors and a tougher schedule. I hate being an SMU fan.

You hate being an SMU fan? GROW SOME NADS! Quit being a cry baby! Support your team! These guys played their guts out this year. I'm proud of 'em! You should be, too.
Am I disappointed in how the season ended? Yes. Am I optimistic about next season? You bet!

I see that Zoloft-Prozac-Wellbutrin c0cktail with the twice daily shock-treatment is really working for you.

So long as we are talking about people's other allegiances, I'd like to mention how much more fun SMU's season was than Duke's. Even on the frustration front. Case in point: Yesterday, at home, against archrival North Carolina, Duke storms back in the last 8 minutes from a 14-point deficit and only has to kick the second extra point to tie the game and look toward a possible OT with all the momentum.
They let UNC block the kick. Game over. Season over. 0-12.

Hahaha. I would prefer an appointment with your shrink or perhaps the surgeon who permanently tattooed that smile on your corny, old mug. Oh, and I know this is SMU Football. Don't hate me because I want SMU to be a winner and not a loser. It seems that this program is partly in the shape it is in because of people like you who accept mediocrity. YOU GROW SOME NADS and DEMAND THAT YOUR AD TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO GET US PLAYING FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!
Don't make me call you an idiot.

Baton Rouge: I've been around this program since the day I was born. I've seen its good days and its bad days.
The most ridiculous statement that you've made in your post is "this program is partly in the shape it is in because of people like you who accept mediocrity." As many have pointed out on this board, I didn't go to SMU. But I'm a fan. I have no control over what happens at SMU. To say that I'm partly responsible for what happens on The Hilltop is laughable.
Steve Orsini is not my AD. I am in no position to make demands of an AD at a school that I did not attend. However, I trust that he'll make the best decision for the students, alumni, fans, etc. of ALL sports at SMU. That's what he's paid to do.

Bottom line is that I've got a couple more years here on the hilltop and i know justin willis is going to lead us to at least one bowl game...i expect more but i'm going to leave it at that. as for ppl that are criticizing the mediocrity of smu athletics, if u were within arms length i'd hit u in the face. u have no idea how competitive we are in just about every sport we play, and to tell our new AD to can Phil Bennett for what he's done these past few years, plz. i hate stupid ppl

I wish the season could continue but I must say it is better to have my heart broken in November than September.

Last I checked, 6-6 is not a losing season.
In fact, 6-6 is a winning season as far as SMU football is concerned.
For the first time in years fans had something to talk about, look forward to and collectively cheer for.
This team gave you all you could handle -- the ups and the downs.
Wah fkin wah. This was the most fun I have had watching Mustang football in a while.

Well said.
It's easy to forget this has been by far the most entertaining team we've seen in years.
And yes - BEAT TECH!
