DMN:Bennett/Orsini Talks on Direction of Program Ongoing

Postby Stallion » Mon Nov 27, 2006 2:45 am

not a good sign. Phil Bennett was quoted as saying that "We've made progress but we aren't where we want to be." Talks will continue Monday. Here's hoping that whatever is decided Bennett lays it on the line.

I don't know how long 'talks' can go on. Wins number in the teens. Losses number in the forties. Recruiting classes rank in the hundreds. Opposition 3rd down conversion astronomical. Our third down conversion dismal. Attendance would fill Moody to the rafters.

Either Orsini pulls the trigger or he doesn't. My guess is all the 'talks' are PB's opportunity to make his case that Orsini should take a flyer on him. Kind of like court petitions look in Louisiana "Show cause as to why you shouldn't" be let go.

Actually, it just dawned on me. Perhaps 'talks' are for the purpose of negotiating a buyout.

I am going to go ahead and post this because I am sure somebody is going to do so sooner or later. The following website is completely full of it and is wrong about as often as it is right (if not more). They are just guessing.

"SMU: We hear the new AD has let the staff go today!"

I just wanted to get this out there before somebody started saying it was gospel.

I wouldn't mind seeing Dirk Koetter at SMU.
