He made the case for how far Bennett has brought this team back. The better players, the fight this team shows.
His caution is to not let this drag out.
Go Bennett.

I agree with Norm, he has helped this program have some fight in it now . . . hopefully he will get anothe year to take this team to a bowl, then championships!

I think he's gone.
Phil may be a great coach to build a foundation. But I don't think he's the kind of coach who will have you competing for championships year after year.
And this is coming from somebody who would have liked for Phil to stay. But I also want SMU to win, and in looking at the big picture, I don't believe Phil can get us there.

If he can't - who can?
I would be afraid that coaches, given the recent history of the program, would be loathe to come to SMU when the best record since the death penalty gets a guy fired. I don't know, I think he has done ya right, and deserves the chance to move to the next level, at least one more year.

That's the question that only Steve Orsini can answer.

If Orsini is scheduled to meet with the team, that in my opinion is very bad news for Bennett. Why would he meet with them if he is staying?

I guess he had better be right.

Are you talking about his overall record? It's worse than Cavan's.
Are you talking about this season? It's only the second best since the DP and only because we scheduled a IAA and 2 Sunbelt teams.

How in the world is 6-6 better than 6-5 (Cavan)?
