Tulane fires Scelfo

his son's a pretty good QB; NW State or SHSU here we come... It's starting to look like the best move for SMU may well have been no move at all...depending on how programs at Tulsa and Tulane deal with change.
He'd be playing backup to Rhett Bomar at SHSU. Rickey Joe Meeks left NW State so that might not be a bad move. Keeps 'em in Louisiana.RGV Pony wrote:his son's a pretty good QB; NW State or SHSU here we come... "I am embarrassed to be the coach of that offense," Tulane coach Chris Scelfo said. "Give Southern Miss credit, but for us to go out there and pee down our legs like we did for 60 minutes on offense was embarrassing."

I agree with everything you say. He easily could have quit last year, gone for another job, but he stayed there with those kids and got them to play hard (including, of course, in their win at SMU .... dammit). He deserved MUCH better than this.Phil Fan wrote:.... Coach Scelfo guided that program through a situation no team in college football history ever has had to deal with. Canning him this quickly is classless. I don't know what would be the acceptable amount of time, but Coach Scelfo deserved better than this.
I think he's regarded as a good coach, though. Hopefully he'll land on his feet quickly.
