Whoa, can you imagine the Mike Leach air-it-out offense at Hurricane U ?

That looks like a great fit!

I guess the big rumor out in Lubbock and in coaching circles is if Leach leaves for Miami, Art Briles -- Tech alum, I think -- will come back to Tech.

Interesting. But I think Art knows he probably can't go any further at Cougar High.

Briles played at Cougar High. Call me crazy, minus the increased salary I think moving to Tech would be a lateral move. Briles has a better chance at Cougar High of running the table ala Boise State and appearing in a BCS bowl than doing the same at Tech.

I think the two schools already get comparable recruits when you factor in UH's BCS transfers.

The best part of this prospect is that Randy Shannon is apparently being offered a pay increase and complete autonomy of the defense. So Miami will combine one of the top three offensive college coaches with one of the top three defensive coaches...BRILLIANT!!!

Agree. He played for Coach Yeoman at UH from '74-'77 and then transferred to Tech where he graduated in '79. His kids all graduated from/attend UH. I think that all things being equal he would stay at UH. He can do a lot more for UH than he could for Tech. However, money talks.
