NC State Set to Hire BC's O'Brien

Postby Water Pony » Thu Dec 07, 2006 9:38 am

Seems like a coup within ACC:

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- North Carolina State appears ready to hire Boston College's Tom O'Brien as its new football coach, according to multiple reports.

I really think that going to another school in your own conference is kind of unseemly. I suspect that there will be plenty of long term bad blood between NC State and BC over this one. I love it when thieves start fighting.

Aside form money, does NC State offer anything that BC does not...other than inferior football?

They had to have ponied up some serious money. Otherwise I'd say BC was a better job.

I like Orsini, but I did have a bit of a dirty feeling when we hired him away from UCF.

Then do we have a Man Law or not? I thought you had to wait 6 months or until she got a new haircut?

This is an awful move for O'Brein, he will regret this. BC was becoming a national power, NC State is rarely good.

So they hired a coach who couldn't beat the coach they fired?

haha yes...makes no sense at all...who cares...BC is not a powerhouse and will never win the ACC ... only in BBall are they good for an ACC title.
