than 17 BCS Conference teams at # 70. The Mustangs were ranked higher than 3 SEC teams , 4 BIG TEN teams, 3 BIG 12 teams , 3 ACC teams, 2 PAC 10 teams and 2 Big East teams on CBS Sportsline.com. This CBS poll ranks all 119 Division 1 football teams at the end of the year...........Sounds better anyway don't you think ?

Im sorry westex but that doesnt mean [deleted] being ranked higher than 17 BCS teams.
Considering that Syracuse, Duke, North Carolina, Stanford, Baylor, Iowa State, and Illinois are all bottom feeders of their respected BCS conference.
I could care less about being ranked higher than 17 BCS teams cuz it means nothing to us.

Just think if we'd beaten NTSU and Rice and won our spare bowl game we could have been top 60!

Even top 70 beats the hell out of the bottom 10...right folks?

Not sure about you guys, but I am glad not to be in the triple digits! Progress towards respectability does not always happen overnight.

Hey, the Rice loss doesn't bother me nearly as much as the NTSU loss. Rice was an improved team this year and beat some other folks besides us. Yes...we should have beat Rice, but the fact we didn't is not in the same category as not beating NTSU. Rice has a
much better team than NTSU.

First if anybody thinks that SMU could beat 17 BCS schools you are absolutely NUTS. SMU can't even beat Baylor. We are 0-10 since the Death Penalty. We might be able to beat 3-5 BCS schools at the maximum.

I am sorry, but Rice should bother you even more, a one year turnaround? We are in our 20+ year turnaround!
