Ran into and talked with Charlie Berry yesterday.
He has been cleared to return and will, indeed, be back this spring.
He stated he currently weighs 288 lbs. and he is very excited to be back with his teammates and looking forward to a great season next fall.
Welcome back CB...we need you at DT.

is that 288 pounds of beer gut and cheeseburgers, or what?

nope.....CB said he is in the best condition of his life. He certainly does not look like 288 lbs.
CB had just worked out at the Premier Club.

i just looked at that roster, and it is so out of date. for example, smu sid has demyron martin listed at 215, he weighed 235 during last summer!

maybe he ought to be playing at 215. Hard to tell because of the injury but I am always skeptical of claims that a RB gained 20-25 pounds and "didn't lose a step" . Happens all the time-they decide later "well maybe he did".

If this news of Berry being focused, and in the best condition of his life is true, than this is very good news! He is an experienced fifth year senior, and can help while these young pups are being brought along.

this is why we need a strength and conditioning program that is position specific... the WR/DB's should not be doing the same weight work out that the OL/DL are doing.

97-02 We had indiviualized workouts, ol/dl had different workouts than the "skill guys". Oh well, lets see what Vic can do with them now!!! I think they should all get Stallion tatoos on their biceps!!!

Brandon Jones and Charlie Berry's return will certainly help next year.

Jones' return will be a huge boost to the secondary, especially after losing Sturdivant. When Tech came in a couple of years ago, he knocked away two would-be touchdowns, and if he can bring that kind of speed and timing and ball skills -- whether it's at CB or safety -- the secondary might not have as much of a dropoff as many of us fear.

If the secondary has a drop-off after last year.. this team is in serious trouble! I've never seen a team give up so much..
They can't get worse.. can they? They're experienced.. granted at giving up yards.. but at least they're experienced at something.
