Not sure if I can post this here or not but figure you guys would know. I'm most likely heading to SMU for Law School in the fall and was wanting suggestions for apartments in the area. Price is definately a priority although I'm sure it's all pretty steep around there. Thanks for your suggestions.
To keep it somewhat sports related. I look forward to somewhat following SMU athletics the next few years. I was really impressed with your athletics complex and stadium while I was around it during the Cotton Bowl. I expect good things from SMU football in the next few years with the recruits they've been getting.

You might want to check out some of the apartments off of Southwestern Blvd. I know there are tons of SMU people in that area because it's not far from the school and it's alot more affordable than staying in HP and UP.

There are VERY good deals in uptown right now...very overbuilt area with very nice apartments. It all depends on your standard of living. I wouldn't live in the Village (apartments off Southwestern) but I know many who do and enjoy themselves. Also, look around the M Street area...lot's of duplexes and houses you could rent for as much as apartment but you'd get more out of it.

Just what the world needs--another lawyer. You still have time to reconsider.

Now can you get a few of the UT players to transfer to the Hilltop, just to maintain their friendship with you?

Contact "Born Red & Blue" who posts on this message board from time to time. She's a real estate agent. She may know some good deals that are in your price range.

Thanks for the advice guys. I plan on starting to look at all this in the next few weeks. My only experience being around any SMU people was on a charter plane full of SMU sorority girls to Acapulco a couple of spring breaks ago. Needless to say, I was impressed with the "quality" of students. Any more suggestions are appreciated!

Along the lines of the "quality" you mention, SMU is without peer. That's not a slap in the face to the students at UT -- there's certainly more of them down there -- but the quality at SMU is mind-boggling. Study the law so you don't get arrested.

If you want cheap and nice, look at The Cambridge one block east of 75 on NW Highway......

There are two complexes that are convenient to SMU and cheap. Just south of The Village, on Lovers Lane. The Plaza and Signature Pointe. Not the nicest joints in town, but they keep the rain off your head and probably will save you a couple hundred bucks a month over the Village. And the Mustang Shuttle (DART bus to SMU) runs right between them. I lived in both when I was in school.
