I know that I will get told by others on here that we still don't have a chance, but it was nice to read that Tech lost all of thier top receivers and 4 starting linemen.

I fully realize that this ranking means nothing. Using this ranking, one could predict a 7-5 season next year. Once again an improvement and potentially a bowl. Now I know that some would say we will find a way to lose a game we should win and some will say that we will win a game we should lose. And there will be the chorus that regardless of how successful the Ponies are next year, the season will be a disaster and demand Bennett's job.
In the past few years, we have not started so close to the upper half of Div IA. And we do have a favorable schedule. And we do have an experienced offense and solid defense coming back. And we have tasted success. Most of the kids on the team have been close to a very successful season. Very few have been around during the darkest days.
Yes, I am sunshining because I do think we can have a better year this coming season. And at least this pre season nonsense poll feels that we will start in a better position than previous years.
Oh, and I am back on SMU football today since nothing happened in the world of the beloved Razorbacks today (no kids transferred, no coaches left, no word from Lord Broyles or Nutt. Dang it is a dull Friday).

we will get our annual beating from the red raiders. but who knows...1st game of the year, after massive graduation loses, it could help smu. and seriously folks, how hard is it for tech coaches, to get those players up to play us? thats a tough sell for the raiders. then, me thinks we have a big time beating coming in cowtown.

They can't. Stan has met the rigorous academic requirement of graduating at least one kid from every recruiting class. So far 8 kids have earned a GED which Lord Broyles has accepted as an official 'graduation'.
This has also raised the literacy rate at U of A by 5% This kind of academic success, unseen before at U of A, insures Stan’s tenure for another 4 years.

I am looking at these from the perspective of what they will do next season. I think they will be MUCH improved but you are right in that they were downright awful this season.

That's BS. We should be ranked higher than Tulsa and Marshall, but probably not as high as Houston.
I think Houston again will be the hurdle we need to overcome for a conference title.

hahahahaha. I am sorry but I cannot help but laugh at this. Reading that it comes off as we were on the brink of the CUSA crown last year or something. I'd like to shoot for more managable hurdles to start such as NTSU or our own ineptitude.

To be fair, with three games to go in the season (two of the three at home), we were in great position in CUSA West. At that point, if we would have won out, we would have won CUSA West.
