I've got Tech, TCU, CUSA West and USM, UCF, and Memphis but what are the other two?

OK, I'll take a stab at predictions or an analysis based on end of the year Sagarin predictor ratings. BTW when I did this last year 06 looked like 8-4 with close games giving a range of 6-6 to 10-2. Of course we lost to NTSU which messed that up.
This year the analysis yields 7-5 with close games of less than about 7 points resulting in a range of 2-10 to 7-5. Ouch. The five predicted losses of 10 points or more are to Tech by 16.5, TCU by 27, USM by 10 or 14 depending on home/away, Houston by 13, and Tulsa by 10. The only big wins are NTSU by 15.5, Tulane by 9, and if Memphis is Home by 7.5.
That means it will be very hard to be better than 7-5 and easily worse. One thing to note is that the home field advantage factor last year was a lot bigger so if the same factor was used our result would be 6-6 if UCF is on the road.
Key games will be Ark St on the road (I know, we killed them, but they did not know what to expect and will be ready this time,) UCF, Rice and UTEP. We have to win all of those unless we can upset someone.

6-6...im sorry PB but that Defense you have this year wont stop the teams we should have easily beaten.
I know that my .500 prediction will change after spring ball.

My range is between 6-6 and 8-4 barring serious injuries. The offense is pretty much intact and there is some depth (except at QB). The defense lost some of their best players and it will depend on how the young players look. I see us at 2-2 OOC. USM, UH, are probable losses. Tulane, Rice, Memphis, UTEP probable wins. UCF and Tulsa would be toss-ups. A split would make us 7-5, lose both 6-6, win both 8-4.

no better than 6-6, especially with that D, PB gets axed, and SMU football continues its downward spiral.

I'd live to disagree and pull the sunshine card. But I'm not sure I can. Next year will tell us a lot about where our program is heading.

Don't know what's worse - a Pony in Dawg Land or a Pony in Longhorn Land.

I know we lost a lot of good defensive players, but a lot of the younger players kicked it up a notch when they were called on. Our secondary shouldn't prove to be our main Achilles heel anymore either. All in all, we SHOULD have a good season if we can just gain some consistency and play 4 quarters a game. We would have easily been 9-3 if we had played all 4 quarters of the game (UTEP, Houston, Rice). I guess all will be revealed when spring ball comes around though.

A pony in Red Raider land would be pretty awful.

If this but that. If UH or Rice plays 4 quarters of the game they don't just win, they blow us right off the field.

From what I remember from all of last season was that the mustangs DIDNT play 1 complete game. Yet they still managed to win 6 games.

My loyalty is with SMU man. It's fun being here in the SEC though.

My loyalty is with SMU too. But the only way to get news of what's going on at SMU in Longhorn Land is through the internet.
