Footballscoop.com says that Ronnie Vinklarek OL at SMU has talked with Texas State about the opening. I have no idea whether this site is credible or not, but would like to know if anybody has any inside info about this?

That site rarely has any credible information, and seems to have a unique ability to print things they read on bathroom walls as "inside scoop" news, but I guess anything is possible. One of these days, they're going to have to get something right .... right?
"What kind of weirdo school are they running over there in Fort Worth?"

I was driving back to Austin from San Antonio and felt bad for the Texas State marketing department as there are billboards all over town supporting Texas State football with the new Rice coach front and center

Look any time an assistant gets offered a head coaching job, he has to consider it even at 1-AA. Many 1-AA head coaches get to be 1-A head coaches. And programs hiring look for coaches with head coaching experience. So, I wouldn't call it bailing for any SMU assistant coach to take a 1-AA head coaching job.

I don't think he meant it in a bad way at all. I would think Coach Vinklarek would be stupid to not interview for any head coaching position he has an opportunity to. Especially when you know your current head coach is on the hot seat, has never produced a winning season, and if he doesn't this year the entire staff would be let go.
I am glad to see an SMU coach getting looks from someone/anyone else really. Makes me think we have something worth stealing away.

That is Wesley Willis who is a famous rock star. I used him as an avatar during the whole Justin Willis debacle and he will rest in peace when we make it to a bowl game so you might need to get used to him

If that site referred to Coach V as an offensive lineman, that's all you need to know about its credibility .... or lack thereof.
