Halftime update

A time to be concerned, to say the least. The Mustangs trail, 27-7 at the intermission. The total yardage is almost even, but the Mustangs are falling short stopping the big plays (like two wide receiver screen passes from Rocky Perez that Lee Mays has turned into touchdowns.) The Mustangs have one big play, the 75-yard pass from Josh McCown to Marcus Carter that set up the 20-yard touchdown pass to Chris Cunningham, but that's been it so far.

The Mustangs also have not gotten a stellar performance from McCown so far. He has forced balls into tight (and multiple) coverage, and he has overthrown several open receivers.

Defensively, the Ponies have mixed big plays with periodic breakdowns. The defense has produced four sacks, but also given up several long passing plays.

And Jacob Crowley has hooked two long field goals.
