Copeland Interested In Kansas Job

In the April 12 edition of the Wichita Kansas newspaper it was reported that S.M.U. Athletic Director Jim Copeland has apparently thrown his name into the running for the vacant Kansas A.D. job.

Hope he doesn't get it or loses interest. SMU would be hard-pressed to find an equal AD to replace him.

Based on everything I've read about Mr. Copeland, I'd have to say I agree with Lotus. It sounds like he's done a great job as athletic director, and with the new stadium and the hiring of Bennett, he has us on the right track. Hopefully, he'll stay.

Rumor has it that KU will stay within the family. Konzem (currently assistant AD) or Maddox (an ex player and banker in Lawrence). Maddox seems to have the lead.
