Fight during meeting...

ok so PB called a meeting this week and about 5 guys didnt show up (including wilton mcray), so PB goes off about this is why we haven't gone to the next level because guys dont do the little things, and tells everyone to leave until the next day... next day the meeting resumes and PB continues to go off about guys not being held accountable for their actions and not taking stuff serious.....

....Cory Muse stands up and says something along the lines of you're d@mn right coach, then proceeds to whoop the crap out of wilton mcray in front of the entire team until they pulled him off of him... aparently he got the best of wilton, and i think its safe to say that nobody will be skipping meetings when you have a senior DE who is sick of guys not doing what they're supposed to.

If what you claim is true, thats not good to have FIVE players missing a meeting. Wilton is a three year starter, I hope IF this true, it will not again.

hell f*cking yeah. And you know what? PB is right. So is Corey Muse. And I'll tell you another thing, it doesn't sit well with folks who pump $$ to the program when everyone's not on board.

Wilton McCray has improved since his freshman year, and will be an asset in the fall. I hope he grows from the event, and I'll admit none of us should really comment too much because we weren't there.

...but I still have a hard time getting the visions of McCray getting trucked in his freshman year out of my head.

What if McCray had a test at the time of the meeting, or was behind in his studies and needed to put some book time in, or had a meeting with a professor to get some help? What would be your thoughts then?

My thoughts would be that he needed a time management class. To mature and plan his day better. I hope the care that was shown to him helps him focus on those that are on his team and care about his success.

I agree, you don't just not show up.

Was any punishment given for missing the meeting? (Besides the whuppin' I mean - if that happened.)

To find a booster to buy him a cell phone.

believe it or not the coaches know when kids have class, and we have study hall, and coaches do grade checks.. if he knew he was going to miss he could have called ...

Same as they are now!!! Hopefully after 3 years he knows how to contact a coach if there is a conflict. Don't be an enabler.

Muse is my hero, man. Finally, a bad-@ss leader on this team. Haven't heard of this happening before. I like it. That's the kind of attitude it's gonna take.

(If it happened, of course.)

So yes Expon18 is completely accurate. Its about time someone stood up and grew some "juevos" and gave Wilton what he has had coming to him for the past three years. Muse is going to be the defensive captain and he has to put people who think they are above the law in place. The best part about it is no one stopped Muse not one coach or player until ole PB stepped in... I wonder if thats a sign at all...You tell me
