Wanted to know if anyone knows if there is a compilation of his work from DMN, especially SWC material. I used to love to wake up on Friday morning and see his predictions via cartoons. DMN does not have any sources, BTW.
One of my prized SMU possesions is a clock with his character 'Peruna' running with the football, surrounded by the other SWC chracters at appropriate stations of the numerical face, circa 1972.

What a talent... probably the best sports cartoonist ever. I'm pretty sure Heritage Hall has a display panel on his work. It's a shame there's nothing left but syndicated political cartoonists. The guy who draws for the Daily Campus has some pretty good stuff - sportswise.

found out that Mc was a student at SMU, I believe in engineering, but did not graduate. Left school to marry a high school sweetheart, IIRC.

Loved those pigskin prognostications. I really miss the greatness that was the DMN sports page of the 60's through the 80's..........St. John, Anders, Galloway, Casstevens.......
Miss the SWC, too..............Saturdays in the fall are just not the same........

Not long ago, I bought from eBay a series of paper placemats that McClanahan had done in 1972. They had prints that predicted the '72 season on them, each SWC team had its own mat done in the school color.
That's where my avitar came from.
