SMU 2000 Probation Case

Postby PonyKai » Sun Apr 29, 2007 10:22 pm

SMU was put on probation, or recieved some kind of penalty from the NCAA in 2000-2001 for football. What happened? What were the infractions then?

I think this was the proverbial writing on the wall for Cavan. This alone would justify his ouster, whether he was directly responsible or not. His assistant coach went off the reservation, and a program (whether it is good or not) can not have that.

Remember the awkward press conference with the Pres, the AD, and Cavan (who said nothing).
