Boston Herald: Pats aim to convert Rogers

Anyone wondering why the Patriots [team stats] selected Southern Methodist’s Justin Rogers in last week’s draft should consider the following anecdote.

As a 205-pound freshman at SMU in 2002, he lined up at defensive end against Oklahoma State. The Cowboys double-teamed him with a tackle and tight end.

This is where it’s revealed Rogers held his own, right? Wrong. The Cowboys ran all over Rogers and cruised to a 52-16 win.

“He just got his (butt) kicked,” SMU assistant coach Eric Roark said yesterday. “They kept double-blocking him. You do the math. It was about 550 pounds on 205, but he never said a word. He’s so tough, so resilient. He can play with pain.”

good link! maybe he will be like Banta-Cain (that guy was pretty damn good last year). Barring injuries to the vets, if he makes the team I don't see him hitting the field all that much....maybe in garbage time.
