It says nothing about a bowl.
It has been 20 years since SMU began serving its death penalty, and Phil Bennett's sixth Mustang team will be a contender for the West Division championship. SMU has a talented quarterback in Justin Willis, a veteran offensive line protecting him and eight starters returning on defense. This could be the year that the Ghost of Violations Past is exorcised, once and for all.

Why didn't we hire a Catholic priest to exorcise the Ghost of Violations Past? We would have been in a bowl years ago.

Even better maybe next time just don't make up a headline that's flat out wrong.

I won't settle for anything less than the 2008 Allstate Sugar Bowl. I can see it now - the SMU Mustangs vs. the USC Trojans.
GO MUSTANGS!
FIGHT ON!
