"Small Town to Big Time: The state's top programs have built success by recruiting stars from Class 3A and below."
hmmm....they must not have run that headline by Stallion.
The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

Help me out. When was the last time any SMU player's pic made the cover of Campbell's Texas Football? Being in Arkyland, we don't get to see that publication as often as one would like.

Colt McCoy looks like he's about 15 years old.

That's ok, the guy from TCU looks like he's 30. It all balances out.

Damn, that's nice to see.... I might just have to pick up a copy when it comes out.
Wikipedia tells me that the last time a TCU player was on the cover was Marvin Godbolt in '04 (immediately prior appearance was Casey Printers in '01). As per SMU, 1995 when they featured an illustrated cover featuring SWC greats.... Doak Walker was included among them. Prior to that was '89 when Forrest Gregg was on the cover with then Houston Coach Jack Pardee.

So it is safe to say that this is the first active Mustang player to make the cover since the Death Penalty. Dang that is a long time. One hopes that this portends better things to come this season I know, crank up John Denver’s Sunshine on my shoulders.

Only once before has a Rice player graced the cover (unless there was a Rice player unmentioned in the illustrated montage) - 1992 Trevor Cobb.

If you click that link you can see the image of the 2000 cover. Yep that's Craig James in the upper right hand corner... I didn't note it because he's in there as a commentator on the NFL.
