Wow, a top 10 ranking. At least he only cost us $82,600 per win last year.

True, he's on the hot seat. But, strangely, Phil's also in a good position for a guy on the hot seat. We go bowl this year and he gets a reset.

I guess we all get caught up in our own situation. I was surprised (or forgotten) how many other name coaches are on the "hot seat". Who on this board wasn't envious of UTEP hiring Price for instance. Who would still like to consider him if this season goes down in flames?

The expense given for cost per game won is CHEAP compared to other coaches and universities.
Go Coach Bennett

We've all been talking about this year being the year of decision for Phil. Everybody with some passion for the program recognizes that. I want him to stay. But I also have no problem letting him go if there is no December football. It's time for this program to take the next step. I want him to lead us there.

Problem is, he should have done that last year, which is why his still on the hotseat this year.

Yes, he would have prevented this discussion, wouldn't he?

I personally think PB is one of the best things to happen to the program in a long time. But I know I'm in the minority on that one.

Phil Bennett has been on these lists for the last 3 years. The truth is, the people who write them don't speak to ADs and are just guessing.

I am guessing Coach Bennett won't take his foot off the gas anymore when winning a game like he did against Cougar High. That game still hurts!
