Anyone considering a road trip to the SMU @ Arkansas State game
Sat. Sept 15th should note that they currently have cheap flights on
Southwest Airlines.
Just made reservations on Southwest Airlines to Little Rock for $118 RT.
It would be great to see some additional Pony Fans on this flight!
(Memphis flights are alot more expensive)
It is about a two hour drive from Little Rock to Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Southwest Flight # 1444
Departs Dallas 11:10AM
Arrives Little Rock 12:10PM
$118 Roundtrip
Southwest Airlines:

Thanks. Finalizing plans in a couple of weeks. Wonder if they are choosing a new mascot. Some school who drops their "Injun" name ought to come back as the "Engines".

They currently have a "Task Force" doing research for a new name. About a year ago they said they were going to become the "Red" but I guess the task force will have to determine if that is acceptable. There are a lot of mascots I would not like to be , but a crayon!?!? Come on.

Would it make more sense to fly into Memphis, finances aside? I was told its 45 minute drive from Memphis, but obviously flying into there is seemingly more expensive

FYI: Jonesboro, is in a dry county, but does allow the consumption of alcohol via "members only" clubs that one can join up on the spot for typically $5. Local Baptist Churches seek to put an end to all alcohol consumption in Craighead County.

As you say "finances aside". Yes Memphis is closer.
But when I checked it was double if not thriple the price.
$118 vs. $431
I was kind of surprised how expensive
it is to fly non-stop into Memphis
Plus I like the convenience of Love Field and SW Airlines
does not fly into Memphis or if it does has no direct flights
from Dallas to Memphis.

Come a day early and enjoy the "Burt Reynolds honorary banjo pickin'" canoe trip from Little Rock to Jonesboro. The package includes a "squeal like a pig" pork sandwich and general "tree huggin" fun for the whole family.

I am working on plans to take my motor home to the Arky State game. The county may be dry but my home on wheels is not. And all Mustang fans are welcime at my version of "Mustang Nation." I will post more detail plans when I know what my plans are.

$114 r/t is pretty cheap, plus it should be a nice drive from Little Rock. I also noticed the Hogs are off that weekend, or it would be a hammer at the airport. I hope to see a rare road win as well!

well, there simply won't be more than a few tickets at that price, perhaps a dozen...it will increase as more people buy those tickets...so if you are interested, be on of the lucky early ones.

I am gonna bring a couple of friends and family members and make the 7 hour drive...
Gonna need a suggestion on where to stay that night. I thought about Little Rock but figure that it would be after midnight before we could get back down there.
Anyone know of any good/interesting places to stay not far from Jonesboro..preferably on the way back to Dallas...but if someone has a really good recommendation in the opposite direction....might not be opposed to it
