I can. It means if Willis gets hurt we will have a true freshman at QB for us and Bennett will have the inexperience excuse to fall back on. Poor PB is always such a victim of circumstances.

It's Bennets job to manage the team so that this doesn't happen.....and he put himself in the situation of possibly only have one qb with experience. This should not be any kind of reason to keep PB around if SMU endures another losing season.................. :!:

Or maybe Logan is the 2nd best at this time. I am just glad he too was not hurt in the all star game.

I agree with you 100%. I was just predicting his lame@ss excuse should Willis go down and our season with him. I am already prepared to hear excuses on the defensive side of the ball where Bennett will blame its short coming on having lots of young players in the rotation. We should have 2-3 RS Freshmen on the D-line and prolly 1 in the LB crew see significant time and a couple true sophs starting in the secondary for PB to use as excuses on that side of the ball.

I think we can put the tin-foil hats away now. I really don't see this grassy knoll working out at all. I mean if Bennet wanted an out for a losing season wouldn't he just go forward with Logan redshirted, then let the lack of depth shake out on its own.

Really, bringing Logan Turner in as the second string smells more like a desperate attempt to prevent a losing season THIS YEAR, even at the expense of Turner's development. I don't think Bennett will be getting a pass this season, even if a meteor strikes the practice facility, or a tornado wipes out Ford. He's on the hook, and I really don't see anything short of a bowl game saving him.

I think the real question is: Who does #2 work for?

I think I forgot to quote Bennett on that one:

(Help me out Sargeant Patton)

"I'm never going to be put in that situation again..." - PB, on signing several QBs after the Tate Wallis and Richard Bartel defections, after the David Page/Kelan Luker defections. Let me know when he figures it out.

Man, a true freshman is told he "IS" the #2 QB coming in without ever stepping on the practice field at a Division 1 school some think is going to a Bowl Game ? I can understand telling him, under the circumstances, we need him to be ready for fall and he has an "opportunity" to be our #2 but what ever happened to "Earning" your position ?
