Former Mustang Uzooma Okeke Cut by CFL's Montreal Alouettes

The Alouettes released 14 players to make the 46-man limit in the Canadian Football League, including veteran offensive lineman Uzooma Okeke. The move wasn't surprising. Talk throughout the Als' camp was that the 6-foot-2, 310-pound lineman was on thin ice as head coach Jim Popp pondered going with an all-Canadian offensive line.

Okeke, 36, spent 14 seasons in the CFL and was entering his 11th campaign with Montreal. The Southern Methodist University graduate was a six-time all-star and in 1999 was the league's top lineman. He earned a Grey Cup ring with the Alouettes in 2002.

Big mistake by the Alouettes -- Uzo has been a terrific OL up tere for a long time.
Best of luck, Uzo, wherever you end up.

His name does not appear on the roster. However, DB Coby Rhinehart is still on it.
