100 Plays that Defined College Football.

Ivan Maisel with ESPN has put together what he terms the 100 Plays that Defined College Football. Go to ESPN.com and pull down the College FB menu.

Unfortunately, we made #81 for the last second loss to BYU in the Holiday Bowl. If I have to see or read about that @#%*'n play one more time, I'll scream. Or maybe I'll just throw up like I did that night.

Can David Burst's announcement count as a defining play in colege football history?

Maisel has actually broadened the list as it includes defining moments and performances along with defining plays. With Ivan's Dallas background, I would be shocked if he does not include the death penalty. Especially since it will never be imposed again.

So the Holiday Bowl ending and the Death Penalty in the top 100. I guess that means I'll have to throw up twice.

PK, there's more misery for you. Being a Mustang fan though, you understand that misery loves company.

What, the Miracle in Lubbock didn't make it? That's never happen again either.

(Wanna bet?)

Well that Iowa-LSU game was an amazing finish. I remember watching that live too. Randomly switching channels and I caught the last few seconds in time to see one of sports greatest plays. That one went unoticed for a while, glad it made it in.

Oh yeah, I understand...let's shed a few tears, commiserate for a short while and then with so many of us there, let's party hearty...any excuse for a party...call it a wake if you want, but make the most of it. :D

LSU-Kentucky a few years ago with Devery Henderson catching a long TD pass after the Kentucky fans had already stormed the field should be up there.

I hope the scoreless tie between Army and Notre Dame from 1949 (I think) will be on there. Just reading up on it and listening to the old scribes talk about gave you a sense that is was a game for the ages.

Long live the Black Knights on the Hudson!!

What about the "Miracle on Mockingbird" or that last second TD from Flanigan to Brian Berry to beat New Mexico at Ownby? Certainly these are two highlights of the past 20 years for SMU fans!

Yea, I'm thinking that will be a top 100 play. Has to be. It was one of the best blunders in college football history! The coach being doused with gatorade, the players already rushing the field with the ball in the air, the fans on the field....but wait! The ball is caught and LSU wins. What a game. Can't wait to see the rest of this list, and I hope more of them have videos.

Not including Bobby Leech's TD run against TT is ridiculous.

Also, the FG against top-ranked OU to win the Astro Bluebonnet Bowl.
