Coach Dodge --

First of all, there are several "When will Coach Dodge leave" polls out
there in the wonderful world of college football.
It is ironic, that many "fans" of college football view Coach Dodge as
just a high school coach, then on the other side of the coin, each of these
fans would take Coach Dodge as their HFC in a second.
Coach Dodge will not leave North Texas. Period.
There is only one possibility of a future HFC job, that Coach Dodge will
consider, Univ of Texas. Heck, Coach Dodge turned down the "Tuna" and
the Dallas Cowboys (how much $$$ does a NFL asst make?).
Now, Riley Dodge is coming to North Texas, that is another 4-5 years,
Coach Dodge and his family love the area, huge family ties, and the
fact Coach Dodge is a man of his word. Coach Dodge stated he has had
"other" offers in the past, but, North Texas is his choice. He knows this is the right place (NT) at the right time. He cannot and will not be bought!

LOL! and riley would have gone to nts if his dad wasn't there too! look, dodge will, and should win in that sun chip district, it's not that much of a step up from the competition slc had. i agree with you on one thing though, having riley there, should keep him longer. good luck with the sooners.

Why do you guys even care how long he will be there? The majority of posters on this board claimed he was nothing more than a high school coach and now you are taunting UNters with how long he will stay?! Be consistent.
My guess is you are finally realizing UNT got a great coach. Kudos to the mean green for having the coconuts to risk bringing him in. My guess is Dodge will remember that too.

Dodge loves being the HC at UNT, just as much as Graham claimed he loved being the HC of Rice.
He loves it just until someone doubles his salary.

I see alot of pissed off pony fans regarding Coach Dodge and North Texas. I see the same topics over and over again:
1.Coach Dodge will not stay-will be bought for $$$. Blah blah blah!
2.Riley Dodge commited to North Texas because of his relationship with
his dad. ( DDickey would never got him thats for sure). What about the
other top recruits comming to North Texas? The NT class of 2007 had
numerious DCTF top 300's, numerious "All State" players. The 2008
class will be loaded with more top ranked players-wait and see!
3.Sun Belt Conference- has a bowl tie in, had 2 schools go to bowl games
Several SBC teams are in position to win big OOC games this year-
Troy hammered your CUSA conference mate, Rice. Troy is loaded with
talent again. SBC favorite.
Some--not ALL pony fans--are real jealous of the success Coach Dodge is
developing at North Texas! It is easy to see !

I'm still waiting on someone to give concrete evidence of high offers from other schools. There's no doubt that Dodge has increased recruiting, but I don't know about top recruits.

I think Dodge is great hire for UNT. He will likely be a fantastic coach and will do great things for the football program. But he is only one component of the university and its athletic program- very nice coach but still only one part of the whole. You can put some sweet rims on rusted out Ford Pinto but at the end of the day its still a Ford Pinto.
And if you think the only job he would leave for is Head Coach at UT then you are absolutely insane. If UT or any number of other top programs came and offered him their O-Coordinator job next season he would take it faster than you could say Hook 'Em.
Which top North Texas recruits?

Do you want to see the top recruits for the 2007 class, or
the top commitments so far for the 2008 class?
Go to "MeanGreenSports.com", click on fooball, achives, NT announces
2007 class, for the player bio's. Very impressive information!
For the 2008 class, currently, there are 4 of the 9 commitments that
are DCTF top 20 players for their position:
1. Riley Dodge, QB, 6.0, 180lbs, 4.4, Southlake Carroll HS
2. Kenny Barrett, WR, 6-4, 190lbs,4.5, Mart HS
3. Lance Dunbar,RB,5-9,185lbs,4.5, Haltom City
4. Troy Franklin, DL/OL, 6-5,270lbs,5.3,Celina HS
Not to bad for July, to have 9 commitments, with 4 players listed in
DCTF. The North Texas class for 2007 had 7 DCTF listed players.
Yes- these guys are Top Rated Players ! Yes- there are more Top Rated
Players coming to North Texas

Ok, I didn't ask for who they are.
You guys keep touting this years commits, but with the exception of the coach's son only 2 commits have other offers, according to Scout. Lance Dunbar had offers from Okie State, UVa, and Colorado. Troy Franklin had an offer from Tulsa. The others have no other offers, but you guys keep saying otherwise. That's what I want you to back up.

If he's successful, after three years. If he's unsuccessful, he'll be fired after 4 years. Heck, look how long we've kept Phil.
