S&S sez, "SmU is the only CUSA school which hasn't gone to a bowl in the past 5 years..."
That's just sad...

I actually find this to be informative. Everyone on this board knows we have not been to a bowl in 20+ years. However, I for one was unaware the EVERY SINGLE TEAM in our conference has been to a bowl in the past 5 seasons. That would make us the single most unsuccessful team in a very poor/mediocre conference. That is news to me.

look...if we haven't been to a bowl in twenty years, and all other conference members have been in the last five...then we're the only one to have not made it in the last 20+years, not just five...that is more than just sad!

we are also the last Texas Division 1A school that hasn't gone to a bowl in 18 years. Believe Baylor is next in line at about 10 years.

But we've "almost" gone to a bowl TWICE in the last 10 years!
It's not like we're really really bad or anything.

Actually, 3 times if you include the 4-6 season [going back a few more years I suppose] (where we would have replayed the darkout SJSU rematch had we beaten TCU in the final WAC game).
I guess that's 2 losses to TCU that kept us out of bowls in the last 15 years, plus 2 1yd goal line stands against, ahem, Rice.

I, too, am surprised to learn that all eleven other CUSA schols have been to a bowl game with the past five years. We either do it this year or someone else should try to break the 20 year drought.

I could care less what other CUSA teams have done in bowls. All I care about is SMU. And we haven't been since 1984 -- my god, I was in high school back then.
So when it comes to has and who hasn't been in or out Texas, really not my concern.
Now, let's break the damn drought this year.

I guess that puts last year's "battle of the bowless" vs. Rice in perspective.

Last year? Against Rice? And it's already gone?

I bet he pulled it all out during the Rice game.
