...to finish seventh out of eight football teams in the Sun Belt Conference preseason coaches' poll that was released Monday during the opening session of the league's annual media days.

UNT received 22 points and finished just in front of Florida International, which had 10 points.

Defending league champion Troy received five of the eight first-place votes. UNT finished seventh in the league standings last season.

So help me, God...if the Mustangs lose to UNT at Ford this year, it'll be the end of civilization as we know it.

I think that pool is fool's gold for the Mustangs. Remember where Rice was ranked in all the preseason polls last year. Then guess what-the Owls bought in to what the new coach was selling, and the game everyone considered a gimme wound up costing us a bowl bid.

Who cares, it's a conference of teams that were blackballed by members of all the good conferences. AKA, the ShunnedBelt.

Lost is that Arkansas State was picked 3rd and received one vote to win the Sunbelt. We play them on the road.

Okay, good conferences meaning, loosely, any conference other than the ShunnedBelt.

jtstang-
Seems like you have a chip on your shoulder regarding the "Shunned Belt", and you brag about keeping any of the Sun Belt Conference schools
out of the CUSA or any other conference. Seems like to me, the Sun
Belt schools are getting stronger every year. As a matter of fact, a
second bowl tie-in is near completion. So why the bad mouthing?
Troy hammered CUSA champ Rice, who whipped your beloved stangs
right there at in your yard, Ford Stadium, kept the stangs out of ALL the
bowl games. How do you explain what happened to your stangs up in
Denton last year? Not too bad for the Shunned Belt- I would bet $MU would gladly accept a invitation to the New Orleans Bowl in a heart beat!
So keep your chip on your shoulder-I am sure North Texas will knock
it off your shoulder again!

Correction:

1. Rice was not the CUSA Champ.
2. The game was played in Houston.
3. You’re grammar is horrible.

We played Rice in Houston. That makes your post invalid.

ROFL, it's still early, but I think that'll be the funniest thing I read all day.

And Chazz73, JT is just making fun of the tinfoil hat crowd who actually believe that other teams have consigned the SB teams to their lot in life.

Says you who has taken the time to post here almost 100 times, uses an SMU message boarder's quote as his signature, and thinks talking about real news reported in an actual newspaper for a real city is obsession. Bravo.
