Glad the hand is completely healed, and that he's supposed to be in better shape. I only got to see one game last year (Arkansas State), but what a performance. Here's to more of the same in 2007. Nice story.

Interesting comments about Zimmerman. I didn't really know what to make of his touchdowns in the Red/Blue game, since those games often are more of a glorified practice. Clearly Willis has a lot of confidence in his receivers, and hopefully will spread the ball around a lot.

Well, I will have to disagree with you there. Lets compare D-Mart's freshman year (for the 10 games he played after cracking the lineup) to ShanD's freshman year (for the 7 games he played once cracking the lineup).

D-Mart:
10 games
854 yards
7 TDs rushing
2 TDs receiving
4.6 YPC

ShanD:
7 games
860 yards
7 TDs
6.42 YPC

ShanD did his damage on a worse team than D-Mart did his on too. Give me ShanD any day. Best back we have had in the last 10 years.

differnt style backs, differnt teams, but I hope that SMUFan is right for these next few seasons, that DeMyron is the better back . . . but I will always appreciate what ShanD did!!

I don't think the poster with the name "ShanDtheMan" is ShanDerrick himself. I might be wrong (I think it happened once in the early 1980s), but I don't think so. But I don't know ... familymember? Family friend? Port Arthur football fan?
