SMU.On the 20th anniversary of receiving the NCAA's death penalty, the Mustangs are still fighting to work their way back to respectability.

Methinks the words "Death Penalty" will be uttered a quarter million times this season.

Hopefully for all the right reasons.

Gadzooks, 20 years is a long time to wait for anything, much less recovery from the DP. And it has been a miserable long wait too. I've been a fan for 60 years, growing up idolizing Doak Walker. Do the math, and look how long we have been in the wilderness compared to our salad days. Sometimes it hurts to be a life long pony fan. We need redemption BIG time, but the best hopes for 2007 are a 7-5 season and a bowl bid.
