Enjoy or whatever

No. 21 SMU 31 ... No. 12 Washington State 20
Washington State sacked SMU QB Justin Willis six times, but it didn't force the Mustang star to make many mistakes. Willis picked apart the Cougar secondary with three touchdown passes while completing 15 straight throws during a second half stretch on the way to a surprisingly easy win. Emmanuel Sanders caught scoring passes from 29 and 18 yards out on the way to a 17-0 SMU lead before the Cougars got on the board with a 37-yard touchdown catch from Michael Bumpus. Willis answered on the first drive of the second half by going 7-for-7 to lead to a two-yard DeMyron Martin touchdown run, and then effectively put the game away on the next drive with another crisp drive finishing with a five-yard pass to Martin for a 31-7 lead. Wazzu's Alex Brink finished the game with 384 yards and two touchdown passes, but wasn't consistent.
Player of the Game - SMU QB Justin Willis completed 24 of 29 passes for 277 yards and three touchdowns and ran ten times for 44 yards
Fun Stat - Sacks: Washington State 6 for 58 yards - SMU 0 for 0

For me, the thought of SMU putting the smack down on Wazzu is almost as delicious as that of beating TCU.

No. 8 South Florida 12 ... No. 21 SMU 10
In what was supposed to be a battle of hot young quarterbacks, neither USF's Matt Grothe nor SMU's Justin Willis could get their respective offenses going. The Bull defense turned out to be a little bit better, with Jarriett Buie sacking Willis for a third quarter safety, and the difference in the defensive slugfest. The Mustangs struck first with a DeMyron Martin six-yard scoring run in the second quarter, but they never got closer than the South Florida 29 for the rest of the game. South Florida didn't fare much better, getting its touchdown on a 21-yard Mike Ford touchdown catch in the third quarter to tie it at ten.
Player of the Game - South Floirda DE George Selvie made seven tackles, two sacks, and a safety for the game-winning points
Fun Stat - Total yards: SMU 293 - South Florida 259
