Season ticket sales

Just curious if anyone has heard how many we have sold this year?
I think last year we were pathetic around 3,500. With all the new rules about getting the orders in by May 31 and adding seat options -- I mean, if you wanted to change, you could (I guess that was by May 31 as well) --just wondering to what extent it had on increasing the numbers.
Also, isn't the club section in the press box sold out for the season?
Thanks

What are you talking about getting orders in by May 31? That was for renewal purposes. You can probably still buy season tickets, sadly. As far as numbers go, I'm not aware the athletic department has released that kind of info.

I meant the renewals were due by May 31. Someone on this board probably has a connection with the athletic department/ticket office and must have heard something.

Remember this from a DMN story in 2006. If true SMU has lost about 70% of its own season ticket base from the opening of Ford. That is very disconcerting and one of the reasons SMU must play a representative, competitive non-conference schedule. Interesting early non-conference football games are good for season tickets. Play Sam Houston State Monument and Arkansas St. and fans would just as soon skip the cupcakes and pick and chose from the remainder of the schedule. CUSA is not the cureall that some like to boast.
1. Low fan base: When Ford Stadium opened in 2000, SMU sold 10,362 season tickets. At the start of the 2005 season, season ticket sales were 4,621. Home attendance for football increased slightly to 18,630 from 17,706 in 2005. But home attendance for men's basketball was down from 3,346 to 2,068.

I bought my season ticket last week. It was my first football season ticket purchase, even though I've been to almost every home game since I graduated.

Love it. For the record, I increased my total from 2 to 3.

Stood in line for 8 hours at the ticket office - some had been in
line all night

Were they in the wrong place and thought they were in line to buy Rush tickets?

Note that he didn't say he was at the SMU ticket office.

I got my Rush tickets from a broker, great seats, but now I'm broker!
