The Tom Landry Classic is moving from SMU's Ford Stadium to Texas Stadium this year. The annual high school double-header has been played in Ford Stadium since 2002.
The match-ups include Garland vs. Allen at 4:30pm followed by Highland Park vs. Waxahachie at 7:30pm on Saturday, Sept. 1.
The Mustangs will be practicing on Sept. 1 at 3 p.m. for game-time conditions in preparation for Monday's game (Sept. 3, 3 p.m.) against Texas Tech which will be nationally televised on ESPN.

We will be hosting the Southlake Carroll / Miami (can't remember the name of the high school) tilt in mid September though. It's going to be nationally televised.

The contract must have been signed to have the game at Ford before Dodge left for UNT!

I don't know. The DMN just today said this, "The game, matching reigning state champions ranked No. 2 and 4 in the National Prep Football Poll, will be televised nationally by ESPNU from SMU's Ford Stadium."
Oh and it's Miami Northwestern by the way.

you are talking about two different things. Southlake/Northwestern wasn't part of the Tom Landry Classic. The Tom Landry Classic moved because Phil needed Ford due to the game time change of the Tech/SMU game

Yeah... the school district was looking at giving the the equivalent of the death penalty, but they decided against it... the irony would have been ripe wouldn't it have? Esp. with Carroll/Ford Stadium/ESPN all in a contract.

Are the players UT recruits?

Miami Northwestern is the team and it had nothign to do with the current players. The district was looking at cancelling the season due to corruption top to bottom in the school administration.
Very Long Story short - Antwain Easterling was the RB last year for MNW. Easterling was 17 and had concentual sex with a 14 year old girl in the high school bathroom. He was brought up on charges, but did deferred adjudication or something along those lines. Meanwhile, the school at first covered up the incident and then even though it was out there in the media, they allowed him to play in the state finals game, which MNW won big.
Because of the cover-up/incident: Every MNW coach was fired and replaced and the principal and vice-principal were fired. This season was threatened because according to the district MNW believed in football over everything else.
Important for us: Antwain Easterling was an absolute killer of a RB but because of the incident none of the big 3 FLA teams would take him and he signed with SOUTHERN MISS! Word is that he is already pushing golden boy Damion Fletcher for starting spot.

Another interesting thing with the game: the betting site 5dimes.com is taking bets on the game, as recently reported on CNN and has caused a bit of a stir regarding whether betting on high school sports is immoral
