Shall we be annoying?

Should we bombard the 103.3 text toy with "Pony Up!" messages at some point?

It really takes nothing for us to do, and should at least earn us some derition from the local sports media.

If anyone's interested we should probably coordinate and pick a time/show to hit.

If you send a Text Message to 71755, it will be displayed in the Studio at ESPN Radio. It's one of the ways to get a message to the shows (in addition to the email and phoning in). Text messages would be easy and intense if we had enough people doing it.

The Trick is to pick a show where we think we can make an impact. Then pick a time when we can get the most people participating.

So which show would work best? Jen Engle (9-noon) Galloway and Company (3-6) or the Hour of [deleted] Hole (6-7)? Then again, I don't know if Dale hansen actually uses the thing. So it should probably be either JES, or GAC.

I am free now. 8 inches of rain yesterday shut down my project in San Antonio.

Coop's been doing the Jen Engle show lately with her, and he is about as fair and open to discussion as any local broadcaster. I bet if you texted during the show, Coop would actually have some meaningful informed discussion.

But should you pick a day closer to opening day?

I say, the Monday (exactly) one week before the Tech Game, and then again on Friday.... and Coop is the best guy in Dallas... the amazing thing about Coop is just his massive encyclopedic knowledge of everything in sports. Everything from who was the point guard for Bucks in '82 to the shortstop for 1967 Braves. And of course college football, oh he knows college football. I would love to hear a conversation between him and Pete Fiutak... I don't know who would be stumped first.

Of course, the old All Night with Todd Wright had both Coop and Fiutak as college football insiders. One night it was Fiutak, Coop, then June Jones all in one hour. I could have told you the weaknesses in every SEC defense after that night.... and a lot more. Those guys a re great. And they would have June Jones on just to talk college football not Hawaii football - though that of course always came up.

Hey DiamondM, did you get my private message about Baby gear?

And, I agree, we should wait a little while if for no other reason than to get as many people on board as possible. Thad's idea for the week before the Blech game is a good one.

In the late-90s, the "meaningful" Coop told his audience that he didn't see why SMU should keep playing football. He said give him one good reason. He's a tool.

Hate to say it...But there was not much going on in the 90's too be proud of...Coop may have had a point...I think he would be a good one to send texts to anyway...
