Not a sellout?

Evidently there is some infighting between DFW based Tech fans and W Texas based Tech fans. Specifically, the west Texans think the main reason behind huge turnouts for games in Dallas or Ft Worth is the Tech fandom from the south plains. One of the threads on raiderpower.com gives such reasons as the game is televised, the game is on a Monday and precedes a school/work day, etc. One poster suggested he was still able to get blocks of 8 tickets at 214-smu-game.

I personally think it will sell out, but given a) how much of a downer it would be if it didn't sell out, and b) our previously mentioned need for active threads, I thought I'd throw this out there.

I am flying up Monday morning on Southwest and taking the last flight out. I could care less what day it is on.

now that you mention it, the last AA flight out I can take is at 8:20p. Accordingly, we're heading out at 6, which will suck if the game winds up being one of those four-hour affairs Tech is known for.

That's why I have the contingency plan of taking the first flight out Tuesday and being at work by 8. Of course it helps when flying Southwest.

Any day the ponies can be nationally televised works for me.

Who cares if it is on tv (ok, excluding those far away and recruits), be at the game

I am not flying because the last flights to Baton Rouge and New Orleans on Monday night are right around the end of the game. Thus, my family and I will be driving back the 6 hours after the game ends so that we can be at work on Tuesday. If I can do that, anyone in the state of Texas should be able to do it as well.

While I love the fact the game is on ESPN, I still hold fast to my core belief that college football should be played on Saturdays.

We are on ESPN and I will take it although I hate the fact we have to play a game the coming Saturday
