So did you scoop Kate H, Pride? We got the word on pf.com at 10pm. Same info posted to DMN at almost 1am!
Is SMU sending someone to Indy to plead its case on Friday? If so, who?

If we get the ok for him to play, will he start? or be part of a rotation?

I'll be very surprised, pleasantly so, if they rule him eligible.

If he's eligible, I bet he starts by mid-season, if not before.

Just once, it's time for the NCAA to do the right thing by SMU.

I think that if they follow precedent, he will not be eligible.

That's just the thing. The NCAA's hipocracy knows no boundaries. Keep a good thought for Serge that divine intervention will occur. But don't be upset if it doesn't happen.

I'm not holding my breath, either — just hoping.

Now that guy is what I call a D-lineman.
I had a chance to meet him today and he is a pretty solid 300 pound man.
Smart too. Very well spoken and happy to be at SMU.
Go Mustangs.

Anyone know the real reason he left Minn so quickly? For that matter, why did he choose them over us to begin with???

He was the "player to be named later" in the trade that sent Jack Brewer up there.

I'm just glad he did leave Minnesota.
I blame his earlier decision on a massive brainfreeze during his recruiting visit up there. When the spring rolled around, and his head thawed out, he realized the error of his ways.

He didn't get accepted into the business school. Bennett also said at a May tour event that their office of compliance never filed his letter of intent with the clearinghouse.
That's why I think because of these mishaps there could be a decent chance, the committee recognizes this and grants it. Probably wishful thinking on my part.

but the point is that he enrolled on a football scholarship and therefore has to sit out a year. Who cares if they filed the LOI. Nobody is claiming that Elizee was paying his own way while he was practicing on the Minnesota Football team during Spring Practice and attending classes. He was not a walkon because he received AID-I assume to attend the university. You can't practice if you aren't enrolled. I admit its a unique fact situation but he just doesn't meet the statutory requirements of the transfer rule for immediate eligibility which has been posted here.
