Tickets Left...

At opening of the ticket office this AM, only 2,000 end-zone left. They expect to sell-out and sell and addional 1,000 standing room only tickets...that's progress.

We need to have our own informal clearing house for SMU faithfull. I would suggest we designate a tent in the BLVD to leave any extra unused tickets for true SMU fans. Any suggestions?

Special Delivery will take care of you.

No, I have mine. I just thought that as most of us have season tickets or have people we know not using theirs that we could establish our own clearing house for those true fans that might need them at the last minute. By designating a tent that we could drop these off and have them given to fans needing them we could actually get more SMU fans into the stadium.

That is what I meant. I am speaking on their behalf, but Special Delivery is one of the most visible spots on the Blvd and they are very good people. They are always happy to help a pony. They can openly say no to my suggestion, but I have been to many games where folks have come to the SD tent looking for tickets and never been disappointed that I know of. I always give them my extras or send them mine if I can not attend.

Be careful of the secret Security Ticket Police though that say we have no right to provide tickets to anyone and they must be turned into the ticket office.

Now I understand. I thought I had to find a taker and deliver when I don't know what I have until ten minutes before kickoff.
So be it...Special Delivery Tent.
What do the Ticket Police have to do with it? If we are not scalping, why should they care? I give them away every year, do they need some too?

I agree but last year there were some people who were told they could not sell or even give away their tickets to others. They were told all extra tickets should be taken to the ticket office and turned in for (re)sale. I think the situation was gotten under control but it was one of the more baffling things I heard about on the Blvd. I am sure someone on board here remembers the happenings better than I but it was a strange kind of deal.

I can't imagine that they have any authority what so ever over giving unsused tickets away! I looked at mine and it doesn't say that I can't give them away, etc. The tickets are not in anyone's specific name, not even those in the club. The only name on record is the buyer, and sometimes it is a corporation, not an individual. If the school gives them to faculty and staff, we can too. I have never heard of anything so silly. I wish they would come and complain to me, we would spend an interesting afternoon with their boss and their boss and their boss, etc. Sounds like some Barney Fife that hasn't a clue or the authority beyond his temporary security patch! Reminds me of that movie line, "What are you going to do commisioner, arrest me for smoking?"

That's Texas Tech, progress will be when we sell out for more than just a Big 12 opponent with a huge alumni base in the area. If we sell out (or nearly sell out) UNT or Rice, that will be progress and substantial progress at that.

Your right of course, but a full stadium makes a great college atmosphere. Even when they lose, they can remember our coeds!

Might want to rethink using "our coeds" and "loose" in the same sentence.

I dunno, when I was there some of them were definitely 'loose'

Yeah. I thought it was supposed to read "even when they were loose, they could remember our coeds."

The Special Delivery camp is #37 in front of Meadows. We have the SMU football player mannequin out front, Mustang helmets through the years and other SMU stuff, come on by!
