I thought the DMN's coverage of Dallas only Div.1 University was lame. We should have our own section just for being the hometown team. I promise you the Times Picayune that for Tulane, Tulsa World for Hurricanes etc...

I wouldn't hold my breath. t.u. and the cult have a stranglehold on the local media and population.

You are exactly right. And this crap about -win first- is lame too.

It's nuts that SMU is considered just another regional school to the DMN.

The New Orleans papers are too busy doing Katrina retrospectives to cover football except perhaps the Saints who look like a Super Bowl contender this year.

Apparently the football program thinks just like you. You must be so proud.

Quit beating your head against the wall. It will never improve. Let it go.

Wrong attitude.

It's all gotta change: The BCS has to go; Local coverage must improve; The NCAA should be sued for the DP. Get some b#lls.

Uncle Belo put J Dub on the cover of Quick this morning. I was pretty stoked to see that.

You are clearly aggrieved by this mr. p, why don't you step up to the plate?

a school with 4-5,000 season tickets deserves nothing-not even the cover of the Park Cities News Sports Page. The Metroplex is a region of over what 6.5 Million. What kind of delusion do you live under. The only thing SMU can do is put a great product on the field and play teams the Dallas fan base is interested in. SMU can get coverage under those circumstances. Otherwise Dallas isn't too terribly interested in the CUSA Title race. That's just the way it is-a lot more hell should have been raised a helluva of a lot earlier if you don't understand that.

I respectfully disagree. Before the Cowboys rode into town SMU was the sports story in this town. Just because the university has been slow to make a commitment to turn this thing around does not mean the local media should abandon us. The DMN should want to see this program return to Top 25 status-to do that we need some press and excitement. I could give a rats arse about being on the Quickie page a day after the Mother of all sports page inserts is released. Too little too late

Supply and demand, boys, supply and demand.

In the meantime, allow me to recommend ponyfans.com for your SMU needs, these guys seeem to be right on the pulse of sports at SMU. You'll find all the coverage you'll ever need of the mustangs.
